Kensington continues its growth in the Canadian market, and is now looking to add a Law Clerk to its legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Law Clerk will provide legal support and take a leadership role over on a broad range of corporate matters. This person will be responsible for organizing new corporations / partnerships, and assist with developing and implementing corporate processes and systems, including file management, establishing tickler systems, legal department databases and maintaining corporate organizational charts. This individual will have the opportunity to interact with a broad range of business groups within Kensington to assist with information requests and assist with transactions. The position will be based in the mid-town Toronto office and will be hybrid role with an expectation of 3 days in the office.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of corporate experience gained from a major law firm or corporation. Experience working with minute books, drafting resolutions and knowledge of corporate entities will be required. Any securities experience will be seen as an asset but not mandatory, including NRD or SEDAR capabilities. A highly motivated self-starter, strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to take ownership of tasks will be important to succeed in this role. You must be a team player, have a flexible and positive attitude, be willing to ‘roll up your sleeves’ to get the work done and work well both in a team and independently with minimal supervision. As well, strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure, to manage multiple tasks and take accountability for providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries and tasks assigned will be valued.
