Xplore is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join its growing team. Reporting to the Vice President, Legal, you will play an integral role on the legal team, preparing CRTC and ISED applications and submissions relating to wireless and satellite telecommunications, monitoring and advising on policies, proceedings and legislative developments, and interacting with various regulatory bodies. The Regulatory Counsel will also support various business groups including the Network, Care, Marketing, and Operations teams on a broad range of issues including advertising, privacy, litigation, and general commercial law. Although Xplore’s corporate head office is in Markham, Ontario, this position would ideally be based in Ottawa and working fully remotely, or if in Toronto, on a hybrid work arrangement.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of regulatory experience gained at a major firm or corporation. Any technology or telecommunications regulatory experience is preferred. Excellent drafting skills plus an ability to think logically and to navigate operational challenges will be a must. You must be confident, assertive and persuasive as you will be representing the organization in a number of capacities. The ability to work independently, and also to build relationships with stakeholders, listen to their concerns, and formulate creative solutions will be critical to success in this role. Although not a requirement, French language proficiency would be an asset.
