SENIOR COUNSEL (LEGAL)
(7+ years of Commercial IT experience)

With lawyers across Canada and globally, the Bank’s lawyers manage legal outcomes by providing a full range of legal and transactional support services to its businesses worldwide. Its Legal team is now looking for a Senior Counsel to provide support to its Technology, Infrastructure and Innovation and Procurement teams. This team’s lawyers work closely with these business groups, negotiating high end, complex agreements and providing strategic advice to solve challenging problems, address risk and protect the interests of the bank. This position reports to a Managing Counsel in Toronto.

The ideal candidate will have 7 years or more of Commercial IT experience gained at a major law firm or corporation. Experience working with a financial institution will be an asset. Experience with outsourcing, technology and data licensing, procurement and cloud agreements is mandatory. Excellent negotiating and drafting skills and experience are required. Strong communication skills and the ability to supervise and direct external counsel will be needed to succeed in this role.
