At Loblaw, the Enterprise Compliance & Ethics group plays an important role in the oversight of Loblaw’s Compliance Programs, including, but not limited to Food and Product Safety, Privacy, Environment, Pharmacy, Occupational Health & Safety, Liquor, Alcohol, Tobacco, Cannabis, Transportation, Payroll, etc. Supporting Compliance Program owners on regulatory compliance, risk and strategic issues, the Enterprise Compliance & Ethics department is responsible for overseeing corporate compliance initiatives and programs. Reporting directly to Director, Compliance Monitoring and Advisory, the Compliance department is now seeking a Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance – Program Assessment, to join its head office. This role assesses the design of compliance programs, identifies potential risks, drafts reports setting out deficiencies and recommendations and provides advice to various business compliance leaders through a consulting lens. As this is an ever-evolving area, there is opportunity for career growth and development. This position is in Loblaw’s head office in Brampton with an opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulatory compliance function with knowledge of compliance, audit, legal consulting, advisory or risk management. Alternately, candidates with professional services / consulting backgrounds, including involvement in 1-2 significant regulatory compliance program assessment engagements will be considered. Experience in risk and control fundamentals, having assessed, designed, implemented and led a compliance function will be required to succeed in this role. Knowledge specific to retail or CPG regulations as well as experience with food and product safety, pharmacy and Occupational Health & Safety will be of great interest. As you will be involved in communicating the results of program assessment engagements to executive stakeholders and the Board, excellent presentation (PowerPoint) and communication skills will be required. Strong time management skills and an ability to build relationships will be required to succeed in this role as you will be working directly with various business groups from across the Company.
