As legal counsel to BIG, the Associate, Investments, oversees and supports BIG’s M&A transactions as well as provides advice to the portfolio companies and Brookfield’s private infrastructure funds, including its flagship $30 billion private investment fund, Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V. You will work closely with BIG’s North American investments and investments legal team and will have exposure to transactions spanning North and South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. This position, located in BIG’s Canadian headquarters in downtown Toronto, will report directly to the Managing Director, Investments Legal out of Toronto.

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of M&A / private equity experience gained from a top-tier Canadian or US firm. Strong drafting skills as well as excellent pragmatic communication abilities will be required to succeed. As many of the transactions are south of the border, experience working on US M&A and/ or private equity deals as well as exposure to an infrastructure sector will be highly valued but not mandatory. This role is ideally suited to a proven outstanding performer who is self-motivated and seeks to join a collaborative, high functioning and growing asset management company with opportunities to work in a variety of regions globally.
