Our client is a Canadian company with a long history in the insurance, wealth management and financial services industry.  It is now looking to hire a Corporate Law Clerk to support the General Counsel and the senior leadership team in managing the corporate legal filings for several reporting issuers and semi-private and private companies.  The Corporate Law Clerk will attend to corporate and securities filings and annual returns (both federal and provincial), maintain corporate records and minute books, prepare press releases, SEDAR filings and continuous disclosure documents, and file documents with various securities commissions.  They will also assist with preparation for quarterly Board meetings, including preparation of Board materials, agendas, and minutes.  This position will report to the General Counsel and be based in the head office in downtown Toronto, in a hybrid work arrangement. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience as a corporate and/or securities law clerk, gained from a law firm or corporation.  Completion of a law clerk diploma program and/or the ILCO certification is strongly preferred.  You must be highly organized, possess strong attention to detail, and be a self-starter who is able to take initiative and work independently.  Any prior knowledge of SEDAR would be an asset, though not required as training will be provided.
