At UPS, its legal department plays an important role in assisting the organization in achieving its goals. Working closely with the business groups, such as human resources and the labour relations group, you will provide advice on labour and employment issues (at both the Federal and Provincial level) as well as human rights and health & safety matters. Drafting and negotiating various agreements as well as providing on-going legal advice, instructing external counsel and taking a leadership role in special projects, you will play an important role as the main ‘go to’ person in this area of law. With a voice in the leadership group, this position reports to the VP, Legal, and is located near Pearson International.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of Labour and Employment experience gained at a well-respected firm or corporation. In addition, any human rights or health and safety experience will be valued. Excellent communication skills, the ability to take ‘ownership’ of your work and self-motivation will be required to succeed in this role. As you will have a ‘seat at the table’ and interacting with all levels of business people including senior management, you will need to be poised, confident and professional.
