CF owns and operates Canada’s top shopping centres and office towers. It is now looking to add a Legal Counsel to the Operations Legal team who will provide legal advice and support for the leasing and management of Canadian retail and office assets. Working with the Leasing team at CF, you will draft and negotiate a broad range of retail and office lease related documents, including LOIs, Offers to Lease, and lease amendments and renewal agreements, advise Leasing Executives and Property Managers on lease interpretation and contract issues, supervise legal support staff on the preparation of lease documentation, and maintain and update the CF database of precedent leases and amendments. This position is located in downtown Toronto, with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days per week in office).
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of commercial leasing experience gained from a major law firm, developer or retailer. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. Strong negotiating skills and sound business judgement will also be required. This individual will need to be organized, possess strong attention to detail and be a collaborative team player.
