The McCain Global Legal Team provides legal services and assists with the management of risks associated with our global business operations. As we continue to grow, we are seeking to fill the new position of Legal Counsel, IP. This individual will be part of McCain’s Global Legal Team across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of IP experience, including patent and/or trademark expertise, ideally gained from private practice. Working with our R&D, Marketing and Agronomy business groups, you will provide strategic, educational and legal advice on patent, trademark and other intellectual property needs including IP protection, enforcement and policies, together with competitive business intelligence, globally and domestically. In addition, you will review and draft IP related contracts as well as instruct external counsel when required. This position will report to the Senior Legal Counsel, IP.
Superior organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously, thrive in a fast-paced setting and balance multiple responsibilities will be required to succeed in this role. A down-to-earth personality, positive outlook and strong interpersonal skills will be necessary in this friendly environment. This position will be hybrid, based out of our Global Headquarters in downtown Toronto.
