As their General Counsel continues to build the legal team, the Bank is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk or Paralegal to provide support in managing mortgage related complaints, mortgage default cases, and other complaints and litigation matters, with a focus on compliance with applicable regulations and the Seniors Code.  The candidate will provide advice, coordinate and prepare correspondence, memos, reports and materials including for litigation, conduct legal research, keep track of regulatory and litigation deadlines, and liaise with regulatory bodies, courts and counsel.  This position is located in Toronto’s Financial District and is hybrid with 3 days in the office.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation law clerk or paralegal gained from a reputable law firm or corporation, with a strong preference for candidates possessing an ILCO certification or a P1 Paralegal license with the Law Society of Ontario.  Any experience working within a financial institution, or on regulatory complaints or mortgage default matters will also be of interest. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as research and analytical skills.  You must be highly organized, possess strong attention to detail, and be able to multi-task and prioritize matters under tight deadlines.
