Massey LLP is seeking an Employment and Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing team. In this role, you will take carriage of a broad range of employment and commercial litigation matters, including executive employment law, wrongful dismissal claims, workplace investigations, professional disciplinary proceedings, contract and commercial litigation, and related matters. You will manage files from pre-litigation negotiations through to final resolution, appear before courts and administrative tribunals, and work closely with the firm’s partners on complex matters. The office is conveniently located in downtown Toronto, and is primarily in-office, with some flexibility for remote work. This role is to fill an existing vacancy, with a total target compensation, including base salary and bonus, of $130,000 – $180,000.
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of employment litigation experience gained from a reputable law firm. You must possess strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills as you will be expected to manage files independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to manage client relationships will be essential in this role. You must be a self-starter and have an entrepreneurial approach to practice development.
